Residents-only parking zones are for the exclusive use of authorised residents of the zone and opérate 24 hours per day, 365 days of the year. No vehicles may park here unless they belong to residents of the zone, this includes Zero Emissions vehicles. These zones have severe parking shortages justifying the implementation of parking spaces solely for use by residents. There are parking zones for Residents-only in the district of Ciutat Vella, in the old town of Gracia, in the old town of Sarrià, in Camp de l'Arpa and El Carmel.

Vehicles belonging to authorised residents living in the zone shown on the sign must be identified when parking using the corresponding obligatory time ticket, either in paper or digital, which can have a duration for one day or several days. Both type of time ticket, paper or digital, shows the residents's zone and the license number of the parked vehicle that identifies the vehicle as being authorised.
